APEC Financial Regulators Training Initiative (FRTI) - 2014 Training Schedule Open to IOSCO Members
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Finance Ministers endorsed the establishment of the APEC Financial Regulators Training Initiative (FRTI) in May 1998 to strengthen financial supervision and regulation in the region by enhancing the analytical and technical capacity of bank supervisors and securities regulators. To implement APEC FRTI, a Secretariat was established at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters in Manila, Philippines and is responsible for coordinating the design of the training programs, sourcing presenters and implementing the training activities. APEC FRTI seminars are primarily targeted at junior- to intermediate-level staff of financial regulatory agencies and stock and derivatives exchanges. The Secretariat invites and accepts nominations for participants from central banks, monetary authorities, prudential regulators and securities and futures regulatory agencies and stock and futures exchanges. FRTI seminars are free of charge to attend.
The APEC FRTI Secretariat has kindly extended an invitation to all IOSCO members, provided they are financial regulators, to send nominations for participants in any of their training seminars scheduled for 2014. Visit the APEC FRTI website for the latest 2014 training schedule and further information. The contact person for registrations and enquiries is Ms. Chona Guatlo at the ADB (firstname.lastname@example.org).
