Past IOSCO Training Programs (2017)

Phase II of the IOSCO/PIFS-Harvard Law School Global Certificate Program for Regulators of Securities Markets, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, 3-8 December 2017 – Registration Open Until November 15th!

IOSCO and the Program on International Financial Systems at Harvard Law School (PIFS-HLS) jointly developed a two-phase program aimed at offering IOSCO members an executive education program that is exclusively tailored for regulators of securities markets. Attendees have up to three years to complete both phases of the Global Certificate Program. Successful attendees will be awarded a joint certificate of participation issued by IOSCO and PIFS-Harvard Law School. Also, IOSCO members may attend any part of the program on a non-certificate basis. Following the inauguration of the program in 2016, it is envisaged that going forward both phases will be conducted once every year.

Phase I consists of three components: online learning materials; an in-person module on regulation; and an in-person module on compliance. The in-person modules will be conducted at IOSCO Headquarters in Madrid (Spain) from 19-30 June 2017, and will cover the fundamentals and intricacies of securities regulation and compliance. These two week-long sessions will be delivered primarily by current or former securities regulators.

Phase II consists of a one week-long in-person module that will be conducted on campus at the Harvard Law School in Cambridge (Massachusetts, US) from 3-8 December 2017. This one week-long session will examine current and future regulatory challenges and emerging issues and will be delivered by leading academics, securities regulators and public policy makers.

While any IOSCO member employee may attend the program, it is specifically designed for regulatory staff with strong leadership potential and approximately five years of regulatory experience.

12th Joint IOSCO/Financial Stability Institute (FSI) Conference on Trading Book Issues and Market Infrastructure, Madrid, Spain, 15-17 November 2017 – Registration Closed!

The annual IOSCO/FSI Conference will be jointly hosted by IOSCO and the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) from 15-17 November 2017 in Madrid, Spain. The program, which is free of charge and open to bank supervisors and securities regulators, has been fully booked and registration has been closed.

IOSCO Asia Pacific Hub Workshop on Behavioral Economics, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 3-4 October 2017 – Application Closed

The IOSCO Asia Pacific Hub will be conducting its inaugural Workshop on "Leveraging Behavioral Economics for Investor Education and Protection" at its premises in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 3-4 October 2017.

The program will review the fundamental principles behind behavioral economics and the application of behavioral insights to the design of specific interventions in the context of securities markets and to evaluate such interventions.

This program is offered at no cost to IOSCO members and is aimed at mid to senior-level executives. Due to the interactive and hands-on nature of the Workshop, participation is limited to 35 executives. The program has been fully booked and application for this program has been closed. 10th IOSCO AMCC Training Seminar, Mumbai, India, 26-28 September 2017 – Registration Open

The 10th edition of the IOSCO AMCC Training Seminar will be kindly hosted by BSE (formerly known as Bombay Stock Exchange) in Mumbai, India, on 26-28 September 2017.
This yearly Training Seminar organized by the IOSCO Affiliate Members Consultative Committee (AMCC) will feature panels, case studies, presentations and breakout sessions on implementing the IOSCO Principles.

2017 IFIE-IOSCO Global Investor Education Conference, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 4-6 June 2017 – Registration Open

The 9th Joint Global Investor Education Conference of the International Forum for Investor Education (IFIE) and IOSCO will be held from 4-6 June 2017 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and will be hosted by the Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association (ANBIMA). 2017 IOSCO Seminar Training Program (STP), Madrid, Spain, 3-5 May 2017

The 2017 IOSCO Seminar Training Program took place from 3-5 May 2017 at IOSCO's premises in Madrid, Spain. The program, which this year had as a theme “Protecting Investors through Supervision, Inspections, and Examinations” , was free of charge and open to all IOSCO members.
