IOSCO AMCC Webinar on “Securities and Derivatives Clearing and the Role of CCPs”
The IOSCO Affiliate Members Consultative Committee (AMCC) held a webinar on “Securities and Derivatives Clearing and the Role of CCPs” on 22 November 2021. This webinar featured three topics. The first one focused on the fundamentals of the clearing and CCPs, including the clearing function of CCPs, their roles and characteristics, and the collateral involved. Attendees discussed why and how central counterparties are critical for economic growth for all economies and notably in emerging markets. The second topic presented the key regulatory highlights of the IOSCO-CPMI Principles for Financial Markets Infrastructures. Under the third topic, a regulator shared with the attendees its lessons learned in implementing the PFMIs.

IOSCO Asia Pacific Hub Webinar on Artificial Intelligence: Risks, Policy Approaches and Guidance for Regulators
The webinar, held on 6th October 2021, provided an overview of Artificial Intelligence concepts and discussed key risks of relevance to regulators and policy makers, policy approaches to AI and risk management, and guidance for regulators.
Speakers included Mhairi Jackson, Chair, IOSCO Committee on Regulation of Market Intermediaries, and Manager, Funds and Asset Management Policy, UK FCA; Ansgar Koene, Global AI Ethics and Regulatory Leader, Ernst & Young; Laurence Van Der Loo, Executive Director, Technology and Operations, ASIFMA; and Shameek Kundu, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Financial Services, Truera.

IOSCO WIW Webcast on Regional Developments in Investor Education and Protection: Frauds and Scams Prevention
In conjunction with IOSCO’s World Investor Week 2021, the IOSCO Asia Pacific Hub and IOSCO Asia Pacific members from the Investor and Financial Education Council of Hong Kong, the Securities and Exchange Board of India, Securities Commission Malaysia and the Monetary Authority of Singapore discuss observations on investment scams, financial education initiatives and other measures undertaken to address some of the challenges, and areas of focus going forward for investor education and protection in relation to frauds and scams prevention.

IOSCO Asia Pacific Hub Webcast on Remaining Challenges in Benchmarks Transition: 2021 and Beyond
The transition away from LIBOR presents unique and difficult challenges for regulators and market participants. As the end date for LIBOR approaches, 2021 continues to be a critical year in benchmarks transition. This webcast discusses the remaining challenges in benchmarks transition, particularly related to USD LIBOR to help regulators and market participants plan the steps they need to take in the coming months.
The discussants in this webcast are Arthur Yuen, Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority; Scott O’Malia, CEO of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association; Anne-Laure Condat, Manager, Benchmarks Policy Team at the UK Financial Conduct Authority and Simonetta Iannotti, Member of Secretariat of the Financial Stability Board.
