National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), India

The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) has been established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. NISM carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

The vision of NISM is to lead, catalyse and deliver education initiatives to professionalise the securities markets. Its mission is to engage in capacity building among stakeholders in the securities markets through financial literacy, professional education, enhancing governance standards and fostering policy research.

NISM intends to add to market quality through educational and research initiatives that would support, enable and expedite an entire gamut of high quality knowledge services in the securities industry. NISM articulates and implements its mission of improving market quality through its six schools, each having specific domain presence within the securities markets. NISM’s activities include certification of securities market professionals, capacity building by conducting securities markets courses and training programs for the working executives to hone their skill set, fostering policy research and undertaking activities promoting financial literacy.

NISM has embarked on a fast track expansion of its activities, both domestically and internationally, which will position the institute as a leading global player in knowledge dissemination and skills enhancement in the financial markets domain.

More details on NISM and its activities are available on its website. URL is https://www.nism.ac.in. For further details, write to [email protected] or call on +91 219 266 8460.
